Bacon Wrapped Dates Stuffed with Blue Cheese and Water Chestnuts
Roasting Oven Environment
Ingredients
8 Medjool dates, pitted
1 ounce blue cheese
2 whole water chestnuts, cut in half
4 strips of bacon
Preparation
High Roast, 600 degrees
Open the sides of the dates and place 1/4 of the cheese in 4 of the dates and a piece of water chestnut in the other four.
Wrap each date in a 4 inch piece of bacon, you’ll get 2 or 3 pieces per strip. Secure the bacon with a toothpick.
Place on a 1/4 sheet pan and place into oven (high roast, 600 degrees) for 5 minutes then turn the dates over and cook for 5 more minutes or until the bacon is done.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Check for seasoning, serve.
